Royal Decree No. 6/2023 of the 10th of May 2023 On ending the State of Emergency for the Coronavirus (COVID-19) Pandemic following the end of the global health emergency as defined by the World Health Organization

The Royal Decree announces the end of the COVID-19 state of emergency. All institutions, services, and businesses are instructed to resume normal operations while maintaining health and safety regulations. It mandates continued vigilance from health authorities for any potential COVID-19 resurgence and prescribes support for those most affected by the pandemic. The decree also revokes any conflicting parts from the previous emergency declaration.

RECOGNIZING that the state of emergency declared under Our Royal Decree No. 6/2020, issued on the 9th of March 2020, was vital to safeguard the well-being of our beloved people during the unprecedented global health crisis, the Novel Coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic;

ACKNOWLEDGING the tireless efforts of Our health professionals, essential workers, and all Our subjects, in combating the COVID-19 pandemic;

WITH DEEP GRATITUDE for the diligence, resilience, and unity shown by Our people during these challenging times;

CONSIDERING the World Health Organization’s recent declaration, which indicates the end of the global health emergency related to the COVID-19 pandemic;

Now, THEREFORE, We, in Our Sovereign capacity, having considered these factors and with the authority vested in Us, do hereby decree as follows:

Article I: Cancellation of State of Emergency

1.1 The State of Emergency declared under Royal Decree No. 6/2020 is hereby cancelled.

Article II: Resumption of Normal Activity

2.1 All public and private institutions, services, and businesses shall resume their standard operating procedures as they were before the implementation of the State of Emergency, whilst adhering to any existing health and safety regulations.

Article III: Continued Vigilance

3.1 Our Government and health authorities are instructed to remain vigilant in monitoring for any potential resurgence of COVID-19, taking necessary precautions and actions to prevent the spread of the virus and protect public health.

Article IV: Continued Support to Affected Individuals and Sectors

4.1 Our Government is tasked with providing necessary support to those who have been most affected by the pandemic, particularly in terms of economic hardship and psychological well-being. This support shall extend to sectors significantly impacted by the pandemic, ensuring their full recovery.

Article V: Modification of Royal Decree No. 6/2020

5.1 Any parts of Royal Decree No. 6/2020 that conflict with this decree are hereby revoked.

Article VI: Enactment and Enforcement

6.1 This decree is to be observed and respected by all, fortified by the Grace of the Divine and in the name of the Kaharagian Sovereign.

6.2 This decree comes into effect from the moment of Our sign-manual and affixation of the Great Seal of Our Realm.
