Royal Decree No. 10/2023 of the 31st of July 2023 sets forth the precedence and order of wear for Kaharagian Orders, Decorations, and Medals within the Principality of Kaharagia. The decree meticulously outlines the seniority of each honour, ranging from the Valour Cross to the Nationality Medal, providing a clear framework for the display and recognition of these distinctions, reflecting the values and traditions of the realm.
WHEREAS, We recognize the nobility, courage, and excellence displayed by Our faithful subjects in various fields of endeavour, be it military valour, civic virtue, or artistic brilliance;
And WHEREAS, We acknowledge the need for a proper hierarchy of honours, orders, and medals, reflecting their relative importance, dignity, and significance, to preserve the tradition, continuity, and stability of Our realm of Kaharagia;
And WHEREAS, We affirm the importance of clarity, orderliness, and ceremonial propriety in the bestowal and wearing of such honours, orders, and medals;
And RECOGNISING, with a profound respect for Our nation’s history, the valour of its people, and the necessity of honouring their service and achievements, the need to codify and set forth the precedence and seniority of Our realm’s honours, orders, and medals;
Now, THEREFORE, We, in Our Sovereign capacity, having considered these factors and with the authority vested in Us, do hereby decree as follows:
Article I: Order of Precedence
1.1 The following shall constitute the precedence of Kaharagian Orders, Decorations, and Medals:
- Valour Cross
- Knight Companion or Lady Companion of the Most Illustrious Order of Saint Michael the Archangel
- The Royal Order of the Kaharagian Eagle
- Knight Grand Cross or Dame Grand Cross
- Knight Grand Commander or Dame Grand Commander
- Knight Commander or Dame Commander
- Knight or Dame
- Royal Decoration “Pro Deo Et Patria”
- Royal Decoration for Arts, Sciences, and Culture
- Prince’s Medal for Merit
- Saint Michael Decoration
- Kaharagian Service Decoration
- Kaharagian Service Medal
- Medal of Merit for Blood Donations
- Royal Family Service Medal
- Nationality Medal
Article II: Guidelines for Wearing
2.1 Individuals holding more than one honour or decoration shall adhere to the order of precedence established in Article I when wearing them.
2.2 Detailed instructions concerning the manner of wearing these honours, decorations, and medals shall be provided by the Chancellery of the Kaharagian Honours and shall be adhered to by all recipients.
Article III: Enactment and Enforcement
3.1 This decree shall take effect immediately upon its promulgation.
3.2 All subjects of the realm, court officials, and servants of the Crown shall adhere to this decree.
3.3 The enforcement of this decree, including the proper observance of the precedence and the order of wear, shall rest with the relevant authorities and the Crown.
