Article 20 — Obstruction of Justice and Contempt

   Any person who interferes with or obstructs the administration of justice in the State of the Kaharagians commits an offence. Obstruction includes:

   1. Intimidating, threatening, or retaliating against a witness, complainant, or any other person involved in or connected with proceedings before a Kaharagian tribunal.
   2. Destroying, altering, concealing, or rendering inaccessible any evidence, document, record, or digital artefact that is relevant to proceedings before a Kaharagian tribunal or that the person knows or has reasonable grounds to believe may become relevant to such proceedings.
   3. Wilfully disobeying a lawful order, direction, or summons of a Kaharagian tribunal.

   Any person who threatens, insults, or obstructs a person exercising judicial or quasi-judicial functions in the State, or who otherwise conducts themselves in a manner calculated to undermine the authority or dignity of such proceedings, commits an offence.

3. 3.

   Classification. An offence under this Article is a serious offence.

4. 4.

   Sanctions. A person found guilty of an offence under this Article is liable to the following sanctions:

   1. A fine of $5,000 to $50,000, in accordance with Article 12.
   2. Public censure in accordance with Article 10.
   3. Exclusion from State services for a period determined by the tribunal.
