Article 49 - Temporary Nature

Extraordinary measures shall be proportionate to the circumstances and remain subject to modification or revocation by the Sovereign.

Unless renewed, extraordinary measures lapse upon the expiry stated in the measure or upon the cessation of the emergency grounds, whichever occurs first.

The Sovereign may require periodic review and reporting by ministers or organs concerning the continued necessity of extraordinary measures.

Acts performed under extraordinary measures remain valid notwithstanding later revocation, unless the measure or subsequent law provides otherwise.

Compensation or relief for burdens imposed by extraordinary measures may be provided by law or by Sovereign Decree.
