Article 20 — Obstruction of Justice and Contempt

  1. Any person who interferes with or obstructs the administration of justice in the Principality of Kaharagia commits an offence. Obstruction includes, but is not limited to:
    1. Intimidating, threatening, or retaliating against a witness, complainant, or any other person involved in or connected with proceedings before a Kaharagian tribunal.
    2. Destroying, altering, concealing, or rendering inaccessible any evidence, document, record, or digital artefact that is relevant to proceedings before a Kaharagian tribunal or that the person knows or has reasonable grounds to believe may become relevant to such proceedings.
    3. Wilfully disobeying a lawful order, direction, or summons of a Kaharagian tribunal.
  2. Any person who threatens, insults, or obstructs a person exercising judicial or quasi-judicial functions in the Principality, or who otherwise conducts themselves in a manner calculated to undermine the authority or dignity of such proceedings, commits an offence.
  3. Classification. An offence under this Article is a serious offence.
  4. Sanctions. A person found guilty of an offence under this Article is liable to any or all of the following sanctions:
    1. A fine of $5,000 to $50,000.
    2. Public censure in accordance with Article 10.
    3. Exclusion from State services for a period determined by the tribunal.
