Article 27 - Abdication

The Sovereign may abdicate by solemn written instrument.

The instrument shall be signed by the Sovereign and shall state the effective time of abdication; unless otherwise stated, abdication takes effect upon authentication.

Abdication shall be authenticated in accordance with Article 40 and published in the Royal Kaharagian Gazette, except where publication would materially endanger the continuity or security of the State, in which case publication may be delayed.

Upon abdication, succession occurs pursuant to Article 25.

An abdication once effective is irrevocable unless the instrument expressly provides for revocation within a stated period.
