Article 20 - Coat of Arms, Achievements, and Great Seal

  1. The Coat of Arms of Kaharagia is the personal arms of the Sovereign and the supreme heraldic emblem of the State. The authority of the Arms derives from the person of the Sovereign and extends to the State as a whole.

  2. The Arms of Kaharagia are blazoned as follows, as set forth in Sovereign Decree SD-2026/0001:

  1. Arms: Gules, a griffin rampant Or, armed Or, holding in the dexter claw a sword Argent hilted Or; the field semé of mullets of six points Or.
  2. Crown: Upon the shield, the Royal Crown of the Prince of the Kaharagians, proper.
  3. Supporters: Two wild men proper, wreathed about the head and loins with leaves Vert, each holding a club proper and also grasping the pole of a banner charged with the Arms of Kaharagia.
  4. Banners: Banners Gules, each of Schwenkel form, the tapering tail reflexed and passing behind the staff, terminating in tassels Or, charged with the Arms on the shield below, and borne upon staffs Or headed with spearheads Or, held by the supporters.
  5. Compartment: A platform Or.
  6. Mantle: A mantle Gules doubled Ermine, flowing from the Royal Crown, gathered and tied into ornamental bunches with cords and tassels Or.
  7. Orders and Insignia: The collar and badge of the Most Illustrious Order of Saint Michael the Archangel, displayed pendent beneath the shield.
  8. Motto: A scroll Gules edged Or, bearing the words "PRO DEO ET PATRIA" in letters Or.
The blazon and description set forth in this paragraph shall constitute the sole authoritative heraldic definition of the Arms of Kaharagia. All representations shall conform thereto.
  1. The lawful forms of the Coat of Arms, as established by Sovereign Decree SD-2026/0001, are:
  1. the Full Achievement, consisting of the shield, Royal Crown, supporters, banners, compartment, mantle, orders, insignia, motto, and all appurtenances
  2. the Middle Achievement, consisting of the shield, Royal Crown, supporters, compartment, and the Order of Saint Michael the Archangel, but excluding the mantle and banners
  3. the State Achievement, consisting solely of the shield surmounted by the Royal Crown, without supporters, orders, collars, banners, mantling, or personal insignia.
No other form, variation, abridgement, or composite use of the Arms shall be deemed lawful unless expressly authorised by the Sovereign.
  1. The Full Achievement is reserved exclusively to the Sovereign and may be used only with His express consent; the Middle Achievement is reserved for official use by the Royal Court and institutions directly attached to the person and household of the Sovereign; and the State Achievement is authorised for use by Government ministries, agencies, courts, and officials acting in the name of the Crown and the State, subject to law and to Sovereign Decree.

  2. Where a reduced form of the Coat of Arms is required for a flag, seal, register, or official instrument, the State Achievement shall be used unless otherwise authorised; the State Flag described in Article 19 shall bear the State Achievement.

  3. The Arms of Kaharagia are protected sovereign symbols. Any unauthorised use, distortion, alteration, assumption, imitation, or misleading display of the Arms, in any form, shall constitute misuse of sovereign insignia.

  4. The Great Seal is the principal instrument of authentication of Acts of State and is governed by Article 40 and by law.

  5. The Sovereign may establish a Lesser Seal and other seals of State for administrative, ceremonial, or diplomatic use. The custody, use, and legal effect of such seals shall be determined by law or by Sovereign Decree.

  6. No person shall counterfeit, falsify, or use the Coat of Arms, the Great Seal, or any other seal of State in a manner likely to mislead as to authority, authenticity, office, or public status, as provided by law.

  7. The Sovereign retains sole authority to grant licences, permissions, exemptions, or special warrants concerning the use of the Coat of Arms, and may authorise protected reproductions for ceremonial, educational, or cultural purposes under conditions prescribed by law or by Sovereign Decree.

  8. The arms of members of the Royal House are governed by Royal House Law and shall be established by Sovereign Decree; no person may assume such arms by birth alone.
