Article 1 - Nature of Nationality

  1. Kaharagian nationality is a personal and enduring legal bond between an individual, the Sovereign, and the community of Kaharagian nationals.

  2. Nationality is founded upon the consent of the Sovereign and the acceptance of the individual. It is independent of territory, residence, or domicile, and is unaffected by the absence or acquisition of territorial sovereignty by the State.

  3. Kaharagian nationality is distinct and autonomous from any other nationality. The possession of a foreign nationality does not, by itself, affect the existence or continuity of Kaharagian nationality, unless otherwise provided by sovereign decree or treaty.

  4. The possession of Kaharagian nationality implies a duty of loyalty to the Sovereign and respect for the laws, symbols, and institutions of the State, in accordance with the Fundamental Laws.
